Boyden has both a volunteer Fire and Ambulance department. Boyden's volunteer firemen and ambulance member's are dedicated to serving Boyden and the surrounding area.

Annually the departments have activities for Fire Prevention Week, conduct fire drills with the schools and give department tours. Annual community fundraisers include pancake feeds and a soup and desert supper.
